fabricating + installing the bow & stern posts

may, 2022

Oh man, these two pieces caused me the biggest headache of all... Every step seemed far more difficult than it had right to be but I'm very happy with the result.

I really wanted to use juniper but tracking down a quality piece that was large enough was a huge challenge. Milling it was also difficult as I barely had enough material and it required some saw gymnastics to get the angles cut that I needed. On top of that, the fiberglass made the bow and stern posts uneven so I had to carefully plane the caps to match the uneven surface to get a nice, tight fit.
