camera bag
miir is a camera bag designed with climbing photography in mind. light, durable, and collapsible, with the ability to accommodate a range of camera and lens sizes, miir is ready to take on any climbing adventure and keep the user's camera safe.

problem statement
existing camera bag designs do not meet the needs of non-professional climbing photographers -- they are too heavy, bulky, and make accessing the camera difficult.

photography experience: amateur
favorite subject: primarily nature with some portraiture
Derek started climbing a few years ago when he started college. Last year he took a photography class which inspired him to start taking photos of his climbing adventures. His goal is to get good enough at outdoor and climbing photography that he can turn it into a business.
Derek cares a lot about his camera and is constantly worried that it will get damaged. He likes being able to bring a camera with a larger lens but has struggled to find a camera bag that accommodates the larger lens without being too bulky.

Dean is a life-long climber and photographer. Though he hasn't made a career out of it, he frequently does photo shoots for his friends/acquaintances. He has an extensive set up for ground photography but is looking for something smaller and lighter for taking photos on the wall.

Danielle loves taking photos of her surroundings. She has a minimalist approach to photography and enjoys taking photos on film. She uses a Fujifilm xt-20 (digital camera) and a Pentax K1000.
to keep it simple, Danielle only brings one lens with her when she goes out on adventures and has yet to invest in a proper camera bag because she hasn't yet found one she likes and feels is worth the investment.
I currently put [my camera] in a small camera insert and into a bigger backpack, makes it very hard to get to."
I use a bulky camera bag strapped to my harness with runners and carabiners, it never feels secure."
